David Schwartz died in the city of Houston, February 3, 1926. He had reached his fiftieth year, having been born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1876. At the age of twenty-one he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree of B.S., have specialized in chemistry. At the time of his death he was active vice-president of the South Texas Cotton Oil Company at Houston, Although the greater pare of his business life was spent int he service of the Southern Cotton Oil Company. Possessed of a scholarly mind and endowed with intellectual curiosity fare above that of the average person, he spent many hours of his leisure int eh study of scientific subjects. He had become a recognized leader in his profession in the country and abroad and he well be remembered widely for his intellectual and professional attainments, but the memory of him abiding in the hearts of his associates and friends well be of his sweet natured personality. Everybody who know him loved him for his kindness and lack of censoriousness. While living under the shadow of a distressing malady, he radiated sunshine and good cheer. He never complained on his own behalf, yet he was most sympathetic towards others. He was as gentile as a child and yet he walked daily in the valley of the shadow of death with unfaltering courage. In the loss of such a good and useful man, it is only fitting that recognition of his worth should be testified to by his associated and friends.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Interstate Cotton Seed Crushersâ Association in annual meeting assembled that in the death of David Schwartz this Association has lost a valuable member and true friend.
